Naoko Tsuruta exhibits a passion for design.
Beginning her career as a jewelry designer, Naoko opened the jewelry gallery “Natural Charisma” and “N.T.C. Workshop” in 2005. She first came in contact with the industry when she was chosen as the Pearl Princess in a Japanese beauty pageant while studying Art History at Sophia University. Captivated by the intricacies and beauty of jewelry, Naoko made the decision to pursue an education in jewelry design.
In 2009, Naoko decided to pursue her long-term dream of becoming a fashion designer, specializing in evening and party dresses. Having lived in Tokyo, New York, Germany, Austria and Hong Kong, as well as having travelled to more than forty countries, her designs are dynamic, unique and express inspiration from her multicultural experiences. Through these encounters, Naoko has learnt to appreciate all cultures while valuing her own identity. She has formed a perspective she calls, “Japanese spirit in creating”, which can be summed up by three elements: earnestness, elaborateness, and a passion for improvement.
Naoko believes that the Kimono conveys a sense of individuality to the non-Japanese and has also instilled a curiosity and interest among them. Putting a universal spin on traditional designs, Naoko integrates contemporary sleekness with Japanese elements using a premium quality garment, the Kimono. Her designs are modern representations based on traditional inspiration, a mixture of elegance and confidence. Being chosen as a finalist for Miss Japan, as well as being a professional model, Naoko is aware of the diversity in beauty that exists within. Her vision is to make women demonstrate their ultimate best while looking and feeling charming and gorgeous.
The “Naoko Tsuruta” brand has been introduced on TV programs, Fashion TV, and magazines. She’s participated in fashion shows in Hong Kong, N.Y, Seoul, Chongqing, and more to come.
Naoko Tsuruta has many fans around the world, including artists and celebrities.
